Dipylidium caninum developed and a fully developed metacestode with withdrawn rostellum in haemocoele of adult cat flea, the intermediate host, reared at 32 degrees C and 3 mm Hg 12 days post infection. (rh - rostellar hooks, s - sucker). note - external, clear outer layer around the fully developed metacestode. (Pugh 1985 PhD thesis).
